Wrestleworld Islands
August 24, 2022
(It was quiet. The street, darkened with an abundance of trees, had branches scattered on the shoulder. Speeding by was a blue 2022 Chevrolet Corvette. The rental hadn’t seen many miles, much less on this kind of terrain. Despite the long light from Los Angeles to the Islands, both women were carrying a lot of energy. Nervous energy. Inside of the car were the SWWS Paradigm Tag Team Champions, The Inevitable. Alandra, in her gray and black dress, looked down the street from the driver’s position. She had no idea where this ranch was.)
Alandra: Kimberly, I don’t know about this. Where is this place anyways? There hasn’t been a street sign in miles!
(Kimberly's eyes were focused heavily on the road, anxious to arrive there already, as a million thoughts ran through her head. She was scared, but not scared at the same time. It was a weird feeling. She zipped up her leather jacket and let out a sigh.)
Kimberly Chase: Just keep driving, Alandra. We will arrive there soon and when we do get there, I want you to be by my side no matter what. It's better to play it safe.
(Alandra glanced over at Kimberly for a brief moment, trying to collect her own thoughts while bringing her eyes back to the road. To Alandra, Kimberly was the general. She trusted the judgment of her tag team partner, all the while wondering what would bring the two of them to the dreaded Ranch.)
Alandra: Are the legends true? Colton told me a long time ago about how there is a tribe that surrounds the Ranch. He could see them every time he walked outside, yet they didn’t go on the land. Lillie even mentioned it to me once. You’ve been here more than anyone I know outside of those two. Do they really exist?
Kimberly Chase: It's true, they do exist. I haven't been here in years, so I really don't know how they are going to react if they see me back or how they are going to react seeing you, but like I said if you stay by my side we will be okay. I would never let anything bad happen to you, and you know this.
(Kimberly nodded her head and tugged on her seatbelt, realizing she needed to protect Alandra at all costs and most importantly, look after herself. Alandra, on the other hand, was amazed at the idea of the tribe. It was a far cry from the snobby brats that she dealt with on a regular basis in southern California.)
Alandra: I know. Thing is, we know Lillie. You know Violet. I find it a little strange that one spoke for everyone when that tweet came out. What if we’re walking into an ambush here? That Amadeus or whatever his name is, he sounds like he would try and recruit us to join that group he’s in.
(As she continued driving, she noticed a wide path in between the trees.)
Alandra: I know it’s been a while, but is this where I make the turn? It seems pretty wide open compared to the rest of the road.
Kimberly Chase: Yes. I forgot to mention this earlier, but just in case things are out of our control, I brought back up. I'll show you when we stop the car.
(As the car slowly pulls into the side road, Alandra glanced over at Kimberly in confusion. Continuing down the side path, she saw the sign “Rofflestomp Ranch”. The car came to a slow stop while Alandra’s expression went from worried to grim.)
Alandra: Back up?
(Rather than pulling the car into the driveway, Alandra chose to park the car just outside of the property. After turning the vehicle off, her curiosity peaked.)
Alandra: What do you mean back up?
(Kimberly removes her seat belt, then reaches for something in the back seat of the vehicle and retrieves two baseball bats, handing one to Alandra and keeping the other for herself as she looks at her.)
Kimberly Chase: Well, what do you think? I figured this would be a good backup in case shit hits the fan. Lord knows who else is lurking in and out of the ranch. Let me know when you are ready, okay?
(Alandra looks over at the baseball bat that Kimberly gave her. Nodding to Kimberly, she slowly walks up the driveway with her Inevitable pal. As the two look around the front of the Ranch, Alandra gripped the baseball bat tightly.)
Alandra: This definitely isn’t what it used to be. I remember Colton used to send pictures of this place, it was like paradise. What happened here?
(The two stop at the bottom of the porch, glancing up at the door.)
Alandra: If at any time you want to turn back, we turn back. We’re this close to facing them at Homecoming, we don’t need to risk our lives or theirs.
Kimberly Chase: I know that, but what Lillie said about me has been eating me up inside regarding my past. It was unnecessary, and I feel this confrontation may be the only way to put the past to rest for good.
(Kimberly stepped in front of the door and knocked on it as she looked around, feeling a cold breeze brush right through her skin.)
Kimberly Chase: Hello, is anyone there? It's Alandra and Kimberly.
(Noticing something, Alandra walked up to the door. After a moment of hesitation, she pushed the door open with the end of the bat.)
Alandra: That’s weird.
(The two walked into the farmhouse, ready to strike. Alandra glanced over at the home.)
Alandra: Not gonna lie, this is a nice place.
(While the two searched the home, they noticed several pictures on the wall featuring Lillie and Graupe. Alandra looked around the home, thinking it may be unoccupied.)
Alandra: Kimberly, are you sure we’re at the right place? It feels like there’s nobody here.
(Kimberly didn't answer immediately and looked back at the picture of Lillie and Graupe once more, reflecting the fun times she and Lillie had. She missed those days. She wasn't sure if they could ever regain that back. She sighed under her breath.)
Kimberly Chase: Yes, of course it is. I am sure if we keep looking around, they will be here. Just keep your eyes peeled and listen for any sounds.
(Nodding to her teammate, Alandra scoped out more of the Farmhouse. It was strange to see that most of the property was Colton’s. His gear was still there, including his old merchandise that he sold for Wrestleworld. While checking out the bedroom, she noticed a phone. It couldn’t be Colton’s, she thought to herself. This led to her picking the phone up and bringing it into the living room.)
Alandra: Either this is somebody else’s phone, or it’s Lillie’s phone. She’s here, I can feel it.
(Opening the phone, she noticed the wallpaper being of the Crimson Bouquet while on vacation.)
Alandra: Yep, it’s hers. Let’s check out more of the property since she isn’t inside..
(They continued walking and searching, eventually finding the north entrance. Kimberly legs grow tired, so she and Alandra decide to take a seat on some chairs and rested before they continue to search for Lillie. As Kimberly sat there, her eyes were heavy, and somehow she dozed off for a few minutes.)
Alandra: Oh..
(Alandra’s reaction woke Kimberly up. Initially relaxed to be outdoors, she noticed the look of fear on the face of Alandra. The two take a look at who is directly in front of them.. It was Lillie Saint’s dogs, Bobo and Robo-Bobo. Both Labradors stare down the two, growling with intensity. In between the two dogs was Lillie herself. Her eyes locked on the two with a blank expression.)
Lillie Saint: Kimberly. Alandra. My boys have been waiting to see you.
(Lillie took the baseball bats from the two, resting both of them over her shoulders. Her familiar smile was gone, but a restless look in her eyes remained.)
Alandra: Kimberly?
(Kimberly's heart felt like it dropped to the ground, and it was stomped on upon seeing Lillie there. She sighed and tried to brave, then decided to speak up.)
Kimberly Chase: Lillie... where um is Violet and Amadeus?
Lillie Saint: Asmodeus. Please have it right.
(Sporting her hooded sweatshirt which nearly covered the upper half of her face, Lillie walked over to the porch where the ladies were. Her “sons” watched Alandra and Kimberly while still growling as Lillie returned with a seat. Mere feet away from the Tag Team Champions, Lillie takes a seat in front of them. She rested her hand on the top of Bobo’s head in an attempt to calm him down.)
Lillie Saint: You have them excited. I’m not going to bring Violet and Him here for now. You wanted to talk, you can talk to me. What would you like?
Kimberly Chase: I want to know why you decided to open wounds on the last show, and mention my past with you and Violet. Everyone knows that I'm not proud of the horrible things that I have done, but I apologized to you both many, many times. Not only that, but I have changed. Alandra has seen it and has helped me along in my journey. I no longer feel the need to be driven by hate. Why do you fail to see this?
(While she looked down at her dogs, Lillie heard every word that Kimberly said. It brushed her with confusion, however. She looked from the dogs towards Kimberly.)
Lillie Saint: I didn’t open any wounds. I didn’t say a word. We all have a guilty conscience, Kimberly. You did horrible things to people. Alandra doesn’t pay her speeding tickets and even crashed into a hearse once. I made my mistakes like you. At no time though, did I personally bring up those memories to you. Vie looked as confused as I was, but she knows the big picture. I do not.
(Setting the bats down on each side of her sons, Lillie watched her opponents for Homecoming with a glare.)
Lillie Saint: Do you know what they do to me? Do you know what they did to Vie? I don’t. I have no memory of those things.
Alandra: But.. Graupe. You’re engaged to him, right?
Lillie Saint: Yes. He is engaged to me, but even he knows what I’ve dealt with in the last year.. Kimberly, I’m not going to rip you to shreds for what happened. Creating a situation where I fell into a trap that killed my father, may Satan rest his soul. He’d be breathing right now had it not been for Vie..and for you.
(Her blank expression slowly turned into a smile.)
Lillie Saint: I should be thanking you. You took nearly twenty years of pressure, sadness, and anger off of my shoulders. Out of my heart. You did that. Now, you want to come into my home, go through my things, and sleep on my porch?
(This felt like an indescribable nightmare where she couldn't wake up from. Kimberly ran a hand through her hair, feeling like she was losing her patience)
Kimberly Chase: Are you seriously blaming me for your father's death, Lillie? You seriously need to leave this place immediately, hell burn it to the ground for all I care and get rid of any negativity your way. All I want is for you to be normal again and not be consumed with crazy thoughts.
(Her words struck Lillie with frustration. In part of her mind, she knew that the Mastermind was completely correct. The other part was driven with absolute rage. Lillie stormed up from her chair, kicking it over while picking up one of the baseball bats.)
Lillie Saint: CONSUMED?! WHAT IS NORMAL ANYMORE?
(Seeing her pups cower from her, Lillie immediately dropped to a knee to make sure she didn’t scare them. Alandra glanced over at Kimberly in shock, mouthing “What The Fuck???”. Lillie dropped her head in shame, throwing the bat aside.)
Lillie Saint: There isn’t normal, Kimberly. There never was anything normal. Normal is what people have when they grow up in fancy places.. Normal is the same thing you get when you’re signed to modeling contracts or acting appearances. Normal isn’t me, it’s never been me. I’m not normal. He knew everything about me without ever saying a word. He tricked me.. No.. He didn’t trick me. He’s just that good. I don’t want to applaud him or Fitch.. Bradley or Greck.. I don’t want to be there with them. I only want to help Vie..
(Overcome with her emotions, she rested her arms around her dogs.)
Lillie Saint: I don’t have a choice. Burning this ranch down burns down any memory I have of that first glimpse of true independence away from my family. The drive that brought me here was hard work and believing that everything is going to be amazing in my life, not career, but life. I won’t be here forever, I know. Wrestleworld isn’t long for me.. I’m not long for it.. But this was my home in the same way it was the home of my brother. The same way it IS the home of my friends. They calm me down when I begin to snap, but they’ll have to say goodbye one day. I’m not ready.. ARE YOU? Are you ready to face the worst fears you could imagine?
Are you ready to stand tall with Alandra and walk into the mouth of Hell itself in Anaheim? I’m not ready to do this.. You’re my friends.. You are going to be the first ones getting hurt in a long line of people who cross Asmodeus. Why? Because that’s what he thrives on.. Misery. I’m miserable, you two! I can’t change anything, I can’t stop something like this from happening. I miss sleep. I miss my fiance. I miss laughing. I won’t see or experience those things any time soon.
(Her hand rocketed towards her hooded sweatshirt, pulling the hood back to reveal that the majority of her hair had turned blonde.)
Lillie Saint: I’m not coming home, after all.
(After the words were spoken, Alandra looked at Lillie’s hair. After taking a quick look at Kimberly, she stood herself up to approach Lillie.)
Alandra: You’ve been through a lot.
(As the youngest member of the Inevitable kneeled in front of Lillie, Alandra could hear the dogs salivating at the idea of ripping her apart. It didn’t stop her.)
Alandra: I know you love Vie. The same way I love Kimberly. We care for each other. We will go to any lengths for those we care about. I need you to hear me though..
(Feeling the hot breath of Bobo and Robo-Bobo in her direction, she shut off her fears for the moment to try and help.)
Alandra: Kimberly tells me all the time about how awesome you’ve been. How hard you’ve worked. You deserve to breathe easier. Right, Kimberly? She deserves it!
Kimberly Chase: Exactly. Here is an idea, why don't you ditch this place, and you can get in the car with Alandra and I. We can drive far away from this place and grab a bite to eat somewhere. What do you say?
Alandra: Yeah! We can find Graupe and you can live happily ever after. Those things do exist. Come on.
(As both women approach Lillie to try and help her up, both Bobo and Robo-Bobo begin to bark at them loudly. They initially jump back, watching Lillie pull herself back up.)
Lillie Saint: No. I’m sorry. It just can’t happen. If we disrupt his prophecy, he’s going to become very angry. I can’t take the risk of hurting Vie more. She needs to be happy.
Alandra: Bu..
Lillie Saint: No. I’ll see you two in Anaheim. When you wake up after a hard fought loss, we can talk again. I can’t go with you.
(Kimberly didn't want to push the subject on her, so she respected her wishes and motioned for Alandra that it was time to leave as they both walked away. At some point, Kimberly turned around slightly to look at Lillie, wishing she could get her old friend back before her and Alandra finally made their way to the car where they got in. Kimberly put on her seat belt. She didn't feel like talking and instead remained quiet throughout the car ride.)
