SWWS World Heavyweight Championship
Theodor Pavel w/Misaki Pavel (Champion) vs. Spence Sanders (Challenger)
Story: What a roller coaster of a reign it has been for Theodor Pavel. After winning the title in the Legacy Gauntlet back in September, Pavel has faced some of the toughest competition on the roster. For every memorable win, there have been memorable losses. His difficulties in outside companies have not helped the cause. Added to this is the winner of the Pavel’s Eliminator, Spence Sanders. Sanders won the tournament finale at Blind Date by defeating Matthew Knox. He even scored a pinfall victory over Pavel on the most recent Supershow. So much can happen in this match, but one thing is for sure, Pavel will not go down without a fight in Tokyo.
SWWS Paradigm Tag Team Championship
KAOS (Champions) vs. Tammy Huynh & Nila Rich (Challengers)
Story: When KAOS dethroned The Crimson Bouquet at Blind Date, it left many wondering about the status of Golden Wars. Akiko Igarashi made the decision to have a number one contender’s match for the Championship, leading to Tammy Huynh and Nila Rich scoring an upset victory. The two women from Gateway have the opportunity of a lifetime to dethrone Amber Payne’s former Daughters of Anarchy, but the question always remains. With the KAOS rule in effect, who will be the two members of the group defending the championship? How can one prepare for that?
RUSH Jr. Heavyweight Championship
Touma Ito (Champion) vs. Pio Costa (Challenger)
Story: Between constant title defenses in Osaka and endeavors in the United States, Touma Ito has been a very active man. The self proclaimed “Mister Nine Stars” has been a dominant champion in his own right, holding the RUSH Jr. Heavyweight Championship for nearly a year. Everyone he has faced, he has turned back with ease. This is where Pio Costa comes into play. Everyone’s favorite Italian Cruiserweight has been killing it in tag team action, but it was his victory over Raul Ramirez recently that made Ito set out his challenge. Despite being a constant underdog, Costa accepted the challenge for the Jr. Heavyweight Championship. A lot is on the line, opportunity has knocked. Can he make the dream come true against arguably one of the best technical Jr. Heavyweights of our time?
KWDIAMONDS Speedstar Championship
Seiya (Champion) vs. Zane (Challenger)
Story: For both women, this is considered to be a dream match. Many have compared Seiya’s technical expertise and speed to that of the ‘Crescent Moon’ Zane. When the time came after the Grand Prix in January to find out who she was facing, Seiya essentially made an open challenge. Zane took note of this and accepted the challenge to the surprise and delight of so many fans. A new mother, a gold medalist, and a dominant Speedstar in her own right, Zane is looking to bring the fight to Seiya in front of everyone in Tokyo. Don’t blink.
SWWS Pacific Championship
Dr. Runa Olsen (Champion) vs. Lillie Saint (Challenger)
Story: At Blind Date, as we know, Dr. Runa Olsen became the first ever SWWS Pacific Champion. By winning the six way scramble, Olsen has put SWWS on notice as someone who is more than just a doctor. Always ready for the fight, Olsen has a challenge ahead of her at Golden Wars. Lillie Saint came away with a victory at the last Supershow to become the #1 contender for the championship. Usually a tag team competitor, Saint is more than willing and able to bring the fight to Olsen in Tokyo. Could she become the first competitor in SWWS to win two different championships?
Open Challenge
Kraken w/Nicholas Gabriel vs. Opponent TBA
Story: We have seen what Kraken can do inside of the ring. He is one of the most powerful foes one can battle, AND he’s under the thumb of the diabolical Nicholas Gabriel. After nearly crushing the larynx of Colton Saint at the Kazoka Grand Prix in January, we haven’t seen the monster very often. Just recently on Overload, however, we saw him. Gabriel demanded a proper opponent to match his monster, with Morgan agreeing to the contest. The real challenge, however, is for Morgan to find someone who can go toe to toe with Kraken. Can it be done?
Singles Match
Lexi Gold vs. Veronica Taylor w/Marisol Vilaro
Story: Oh, this one has been weird. For months, Marisol Vilaro was trying to court Gold into joining up with her. Helping her several times along the way, Gold was seeing through the act of the fitness guru. Enter Veronica Taylor. Taylor is proudly represented by Vilaro with the sole intention of dominating SWWS and taking everything for herself. Gold, taking offense to the constant shenanigans, has been chasing these two all over the United States for a fight. The fight is coming in Tokyo, but will the chase end there, or will Vilaro and Taylor keep her on the goose chase?
Singles Match
Michael Bishop vs. Derek Trigg w/Nicholas Gabriel
Story: Will this man ever shut up? Many have asked that of Derek Trigg, but the man keeps talking. It was his constant trash talking and challenges to Theodor Pavel that drew the ire of Pavel’s brother in OWA’s Frontline, Michael Bishop. A legendary MMA fighter and one of the most technically proficient pro wrestlers on the planet, Bishop has the gift of gab as well. He has laid into Trigg verbally several times, most of which has been for the world to see on social media. We ask one favor of Bishop, please break his jaw! Maybe he won’t talk so much!
Singles Match
Ramesses w/Kimberly Chase & The Inevitable vs. Ryo Sakazaki w/Chris Slayton & The Rogue Horsemen
Story: It still remains unclear as to what the problems are with these two men? Some say it dates back to their time in OWA, some say it goes back even further. One thing is for sure though, Ramesses and Ryo Sakazaki have been in the forefront of many issues on Blitzkrieg this year. Following his wedding, Ramesses was attacked by a debuting Sakazaki thanks to a ‘gift’ from Slayton. With the Rogue Horsemen added into the mix, things are becoming even more volatile in Tokyo at the end of the month. Ramesses has promised that he will steal the show at Golden Wars, but maybe the theft won’t be worth it if he isn’t able to come away with the victory.
